Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 22, 2026

Persona Claims is a local-first application for issuing, holding and verifying digital claims. This policy explains, in plain language, how the application handles information. In short: we do not collect personal data, and everything related to your wallet stays on your device.

Local-first storage

Your claims, keys and wallet data live on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to our servers in the background.

No tracking

We do not use analytics, advertising trackers, fingerprinting, or third-party scripts that profile you across the web.

No personal data collection

We do not create user accounts, profiles, or behavioural histories. We do not sell or share personal data with anyone.

You stay in control

Every claim is released only after your explicit consent. You can delete your data at any time by clearing local storage.

1. What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to the Persona Claims application, including its website, wallet, issuer and verifier components (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information we do not collect

We have built the Service so that it does not require us to collect personal data. Specifically, we do not:

  • create user accounts, profiles or contact lists;
  • collect names, email addresses, phone numbers or other identifiers;
  • track your location;
  • use cookies, pixels or similar technologies for advertising or analytics;
  • use third-party analytics, advertising, or behavioural-tracking services;
  • build behavioural profiles or sell data to third parties.

3. Local data on your device

The Service stores all wallet-related data locally on your device, for example in browser storage (such as localStorage or IndexedDB), in the application’s own storage, or on a connected secure element (smart card, SIM card or hardware device). This may include:

  • cryptographic keys generated on your device;
  • claims and credentials issued to you by trusted data sources;
  • local settings and preferences.

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly present a claim to a service or share it with someone. You can delete this data at any time by clearing the application’s storage or uninstalling the application.

4. When you present a claim

Presenting a claim is always initiated by you. When you choose to release a claim to a service, only the data contained in that specific claim is transmitted, and only to the recipient you have chosen. We are not involved in this exchange and do not see the content of your claims.

The receiving service operates under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review before sharing.

5. Network requests and hosting

Like any website, when you load Persona Claims your browser establishes a connection to our hosting provider. In doing so, the provider may temporarily process technical information such as your IP address and the type of browser you use, strictly for the purpose of delivering the page, ensuring security and preventing abuse.

We do not use this information to identify you, to build user profiles, or to track you across sessions. We do not maintain long-term server-side logs of personal browsing activity.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

The Service does not set advertising or analytics cookies. The application may use strictly necessary local storage (for example, to remember your wallet contents or interface preferences). This storage stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

7. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Because we do not collect personal data, we do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Your rights

Because your data stays on your device, you are in full control of it. You can view, export or delete it at any time using the application or your device’s built-in controls. If you believe we are processing personal data about you contrary to this policy, please contact us so we can investigate.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service or applicable law. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.

10. Contact

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at hello@persona.claims.

This policy is provided for transparency. It is not legal advice. If you operate a service built on Persona Claims, you remain responsible for your own privacy practices and notices.
